NASS branches provide regular supervised exercise classes for people with AS. Hundreds of people with AS attend these classes every week and they make a huge difference to well being. If you go to a branch, why not get in touch with your local elected representative - Westminster MP, Welsh Assembly member or Member of the Scottish Parliament - to tell them about AS and about the local branch?  This will raise awareness of AS in your area.

It will also mean your elected representative will know about your branch and the importance of local services to you. You can then work with them to try and improve the services and ask for their help if services are ever under any kind of threat of closure or reduction. Most NASS members will know that this can often happen suddenly and with almost no warning. Hydrotherapy pools which are such an important part of treatment for people with AS, and many other conditions, can often be threatened.

If your branch is in touch with a local elected representative, be sure to tell Maddy Randall, Branch Development Officer on maddy@nass.co.uk  so that we know you have made contact.
