This area has been designed specifically for branches members to access useful information regarding the running of a NASS branch.

We are very aware that our branches provide a vital link between the charity and people with AS in the community. We also appreciate that without the tireless efforts of the hundreds of volunteers across the UK these branches would not be able to operate as succesfully as they do.

We have split the information provided into five areas:

1. Branch Information & News
2. Branch Guidance
3. Branch Finance
4. Branch Marketing
5. Branch Campaigning & Fundraising

If you have any comments or queries about the NASS branches or regarding any of the information below - please do get in touch with Maddy Randall by email or by calling the NASS Office, 020 8948 9117 or Maddy's mobile, 07875 107 747

Branch Information & News

NASS Branch Network - Safeguarding their future

Since July 2009, we have been busy visiting all of the NASS branches across the UK. We have spoken to over 800 branch members and over 120 physiotherapists about their experiences in the branches over the last 25 years. We have now published a short report, which describes the history of the branches over the last 25 years, the challenges they are facing today, and we might do to safeguard their future.

Branch Marketing

In order to assist branches in promoting their exercise sessions, there is a MS Publisher template available of an A4 poster, a DL leaflet and an A5 leaflet.  All three of these templates have word count guidance included in the sample text.  You can download a pdf version below, but if you would like a copy I will need to email it to you separately.

If you don't have access to a copy of MS Publisher - don't worry, all you need to do is follow the work count guidance and send me a copy of this and any photographs you would like to use and I will happily drop it in to your poster/leaflet.  Any difficulties - do let me know.

Branch Campaigning & Fundraising

We like to encourage all our branch members to get involved with NASS campaigns as much as they are able.

Thank you to everyone who celebrated this year's World Arthritis Day on 12th October. It was a resounding success!  Over 30 branches took part and stretched on or around the day, raising awareness of AS in their areas and also raising money towards a new branch support and development fund that every branch will be able to access to support such things as physiotherapist training, awareness days and recruiting new members. If you like to see what branches got up to - check out the Stretch Gallery!

For more information about how to access the fund please email Maddy Randall, Branch Development Officer.

Sign up for change is our ongoing campaign asking for signatures on our petition. NASS is demanding that the Government acknowledges and responds to the inequalities of healthcare and access to treatment experienced by thousands of people with AS in the UK.

People with AS deserve a better deal. If you have AS or know someone with AS and want a better deal sign the petition for change. Sign up here today!
